Sushi Fujiyama Japanese Restaurant, a Downtown Halifax Japanese Restaurant, was among the top 10 new restaurants in Canada in 2010 and is beloved by customers. This project is mainly to provide Sushi Fujiyama Japanese Restaurant with new-generation wireless network coverage and network restructuring services. Before the network restructuring, Fujiyama restaurant had problems such as complex and inefficient network structure, a small number of tape machines, and limitations in wireless coverage. At the same time, due to the existence of a large number of secondary routes, the store network segment has conflicts and cross-network segment access problems. In addition, Fujiyama restaurant lacks the necessary network security strategy deployment. All the devices in the restaurant, including POS cash register system, POS card swiping system, and printer, are in the same network with the customer, which has a great risk of being attacked.
Fujiyama restaurant’s network architecture is optimized through the network reorganization service of MoeWi-Fi, which reduces unnecessary secondary routes and thus reduces conflicts and potential problems in the network. At the same time, thanks to the Cloud Guest Wi-Fi technology of MoeWi-Fi, Fujiyama restaurant has realized the all-store wireless network coverage with seamless network roaming and security isolation, which not only greatly improves customers’ Internet experience, but also provides a more secure network environment for other internal devices. In addition, with the help of the Portal page, Fujiyama restaurant has gained a new publicity channel, which can not only promote its own special dishes but also improve its brand image.
Existing network architecture backward and miscellaneous
Sushi Fujiyama Japanese Restaurant used multiple independent wireless routes to cover the wireless network of the Restaurant before the renovation, and each network segment was separate with conflicts. When the user is roaming from multiple routers, it is easy to drop the line and fail to connect. At the same time, the current architecture does not meet the unlimited roaming conditions, and there are different SSID and password problems, resulting in poor customer experience.
Wireless and wired network management chaos
Due to the use of multiple independent wireless routes for coverage, communication between devices is prone to problems. At the same time, the current architecture does not isolate the visitor network from the internal network, and the POS and the visitor are in the same network, so there is a significant security problem.
Some devices require high wireless stability
The front desk is equipped with multiple mobile terminals for take-out software to receive orders, which requires high stability of the wireless network. In addition, POS USES wireless network for transmission, which requires high stability.
Stonewall material makes coverage difficult
Due to the long history of Fujiyama restaurant’s wall structure, there are a large number of stone walls, which have obvious effect on signal blocking, and the traditional router structure is difficult to cover completely. Under the current architecture, the wireless network is prone to problems such as poor signal and packet loss.
Project Network Topology
In this project, the redundant wireless Router in the original network architecture was removed by re-networking, and Cisco Router was used as the top-level Router, responsible for DHCP and hardware NAT work, supplemented by two gigabit switches to expand the port. By dividing the space, two AP15X series of access points were used to cover different areas. At the same time, the visitors and the internal network equipment were isolated based on the hardware level to ensure the safe and stable operation of the internal network equipment. Thanks to the MoeWi-Fi Cloud AC technology, there is no need to deploy the Access Controller locally, further streamlining and optimizing the local network architecture.
Project Implementation Effect
Users can connect to @Fujiyama wireless network without entering a password, and the system automatically pops up a Portal page for verification. Users only need to click “Go Online” to complete the network connection, which is convenient and straightforward and dramatically improves the user experience.
For Fujiyama restaurant, the Portal page can also be used as a new way of publicity, and its page can be updated in real time. The restaurant can modify the pictures to promote special recommendations or the latest dishes.
Improvement for internal network

Improvement for coverage
Through the use of two AP15X series Access Point coverage and special optimization for the location of the space, the current can achieve 99.9% no dead Angle coverage. At the same time, when users switch between two wireless access points, they can get fast roaming ability and realize no network interruption in the process of roaming.
Improvement for security
After re-networking and network coverage, the guest network is completely isolated from the internal network, and the customer network cannot access the internal equipment, greatly improving the security of the internal network.
